The Archangel Centers does not provide medical detox or inpatient rehabilitation directly. We work with trusted, accredited partner facilities to coordinate this level of care with concierge-level support, so every client reaches the appropriate level of care and a seamless continuum from detox through outpatient treatment.
Medical detox is the first clinical step for many clients in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and the broader Charlotte metro who are entering treatment for alcohol, opioid, or benzodiazepine use disorder. The body must be stabilized before therapy and group work can do their part. Transportation, intake paperwork, family communication (with releases), and the handoff to the detox medical team are handled. 4. Continuity during detox. A point of contact at Archangel stays involved during the detox stay. 5. Step-down to PHP at Charlotte. As the partner detox stay nears discharge, the intake into Charlotte PHP is scheduled, so the client steps from a detox bed into a full clinical day without an unsupervised gap.

Most detox stays run 3 to 10 days, depending on substance and clinical picture. Detox manages withdrawal so that the real work, which happens in PHP, IOP, and OP, can begin.
The 24 to 72 hours after detox discharge is the single highest-risk window in early recovery. A client leaves a structured medical environment and re-enters whatever environment contributed to the addiction. The plan, or absence of one, at that moment is often what determines what happens next.
