Admissions

How to Start Treatment

The Process

Simpler than you think

  1. 1

    Call or verify online

Call (888) 464-2144 or send your insurance details. Our admissions team answers 24/7. The call is free, confidential, and carries no obligation.

  2. 2

    Clinical assessment

A licensed clinician runs a brief assessment of your substance use history, mental health, current situation, and any urgent medical needs. About 30 to 45 minutes.

  3. 3

    Insurance verification

The admissions team contacts the insurer directly and confirms what is covered, deductible and copay, and whether prior authorization is needed. The full cost breakdown is provided before any commitment.

  4. 4

    Clinical recommendation

Based on the assessment and benefits, the team recommends the appropriate level of care: PHP, IOP, Outpatient, or a Detox Concierge handoff. The client decides whether to move forward.

  5. 5

    Start treatment

Most clients begin within the same week, many the next day. The clinical team meets each new client on day one with a full plan ready to go.

What To Expect

On your first call

Calling about treatment, for yourself or for someone you love - is usually the hardest part. Here’s what that first conversation actually looks like, so you know what you’re walking into.

A real person answers

Not a queue, not a call-center script. The admissions line at The Archangel Centers is staffed by clinical intake coordinators around the clock, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Confidential, no pressure

What you share on the call stays between you and the admissions team. Nothing is sent to your employer, your family, or anyone else without your written consent. There is no pressure to commit on the first call.

Clinical, not sales

The first conversation is a clinical assessment, not a sales pitch. The job of the intake team is to decide together whether outpatient treatment at the Tinton Falls clinic is the right next step, and if it is not, to help you find what is.

Insurance handled the same call

We verify your insurance benefits during the call when possible. You leave the first conversation knowing your in-network status, your deductible and copay, and any prior-authorization requirements your plan has.

Frequently Asked

Common questions about admissions

How long does the first call take?

About 20 to 30 minutes for the clinical assessment, plus another 10 minutes for benefits verification if we run it on the same call. Most people leave that first conversation with a clear next step and a scheduled intake.

What if I'm not the one with the substance use issue?

Many of our admissions calls come from family members. The admissions team will talk through the situation with you, explain the program, and help you figure out the right next move, including how to approach the conversation with your loved one. Treatment ultimately requires the client's consent, but the call can start with the family.

Do I have to be sober to start?

No. Many clients walk in the door still using. The medical team handles initial stabilization, decides whether a medical detox is needed first, and routes accordingly. Honesty on intake matters more than sobriety.

What does treatment cost?

Cost depends on your plan, your level of care, and length of stay. The Archangel Centers works with most major commercial carriers, which keeps out-of-pocket cost manageable for most clients. We tell you the actual number before you start, not after.

Can I tour the facility before deciding?

Yes. In-person tours are scheduled Monday through Friday during business hours. Call the admissions line and we will set one up, usually within a day or two.

What happens if outpatient is not enough?

If the clinical picture calls for a higher level of care than outpatient, for example, if medical detox or inpatient stabilization is indicated, the admissions team coordinates placement at an accredited partner facility and schedules your step-down into our PHP or IOP after.
