Archangels gave me my life back. Their team is the most amazing, caring people I have ever met. The housing they sent me to was amazing, the groups are amazing, and this whole project is amazing. If you're tired of being sick and tired, reach out and save your life.

I had the honor of touring this facility, and it was absolutely beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. But more than how it looked, you could feel the love in every detail. Watching the staff interact with clients genuinely touched my heart.

Inside the Clinic

Tour The Archangel Centers

A 60-second walkthrough of the Tinton Falls clinic, the space where the program actually runs.

The Archangel Centers does not provide medical detox or inpatient rehabilitation directly. We work with trusted, accredited partner facilities to coordinate this level of care with concierge-level support, so every client reaches the appropriate level of care and a seamless continuum from detox through outpatient treatment.

Inpatient rehabilitation is full-time live-in treatment for a defined clinical episode, typically 28 days or longer, serving clients in Tinton Falls, Monmouth County, and across New Jersey. Inpatient care fits clients who cannot safely or productively begin recovery while continuing to live in the environment where the substance use has been happening, or whose clinical picture (especially with co-occurring mental health symptoms) requires 24-hour clinical presence.

The Archangel Centers is a licensed outpatient provider. We do not run an inpatient or residential facility. What we do is coordinate fast placement into accredited partner inpatient facilities, stay involved during the inpatient stay, and receive the client into our outpatient continuum, typically Partial Care at Tinton Falls, for step-down after discharge.

When inpatient care is the right starting point

Inpatient placement is generally recommended when one or more of the following applies:

The single most consistent indicator is whether the client can safely and productively engage in recovery while living at home. If the honest answer is no, inpatient is usually the right starting point.

  • Repeated failed attempts at outpatient or lower-intensity care
  • Severe substance use disorder with high relapse risk
  • A home environment that is actively interfering with recovery (active use by others in the household, exposure to use settings, unsafe relationships)
  • Co-occurring mental health symptoms (severe depression, suicidality, untreated PTSD, psychosis) that require 24-hour clinical monitoring
  • Recent overdose or other high-acuity medical events
  • Court-mandated treatment that specifies residential level of care
  • A clinical assessment using ASAM Criteria that supports residential placement

What inpatient care typically includes

Each accredited partner facility runs its own clinical program, and exact content varies. In general, inpatient programs include:

Stays typically run 28 days, though longer (60 or 90 days) is sometimes clinically indicated, especially for severe presentations or court-mandated treatment.

  • 24-hour clinical staffing
  • Daily group therapy and process work
  • Individual therapy with an assigned therapist
  • Medical and psychiatric assessment and management
  • Medication-assisted treatment when indicated
  • Family programming
  • Structured living, meals, and sleep
  • A defined discharge plan that names the next level of care

How The Archangel Centers coordinates inpatient placement

The goal is the same as our medical detox coordination model: remove friction, preserve clinical integrity, and ensure the handoff into outpatient step-down is seamless, not fractured.

1. First call. A clinical phone assessment plus insurance verification is completed during the same call at (888) 464-2144. 2. Concierge placement. If inpatient is clinically indicated, the admissions team identifies an accredited partner facility matched to the client's clinical needs, insurance, and (if relevant) any geographic or program preferences. 3. Logistics coordination. Transportation, admission paperwork, insurance authorization, and family communication (with releases) are handled. 4. Continuity during inpatient stay. A point of contact at Archangel stays in light contact with the client and family during the stay, with appropriate releases. 5. Step-down to outpatient. Discharge planning begins well before the inpatient discharge date. The intake into our outpatient program (typically Partial Care) is scheduled before the inpatient stay ends, so there is no unsupervised gap.

Why the coordinated handoff matters

The 24 to 72 hours after discharge from inpatient care is the single highest-risk window in early recovery. Clients leave a structured environment and re-enter the environment that contributed to the addiction in the first place. The plan that exists or does not exist at that moment determines what happens next.

A coordinated handoff means:

This is not magic. It is logistics. The reason to coordinate it through one continuum, rather than have the family run the handoff themselves, is that the family is usually exhausted and frightened, and the inpatient discharge planner usually cannot follow the client into the outpatient relationship.

  • The next level of care is already scheduled and known to the client
  • Transportation home, or to sober living, is arranged
  • Medication, if any, is dispensed or filled
  • The first outpatient session is in the calendar with a specific time
  • The family is informed of the plan

After inpatient, what step-down looks like

Most clients step from inpatient into Partial Care at Tinton Falls. The Partial Care day reproduces much of the structure of inpatient (full clinical day, group therapy, individual sessions, medical management) without the residential component. Clients live at home or in a sober living arrangement.

As the client stabilizes, the step-down continues:

Evidence-Based Care

Licensed clinicians. Evidence-based modalities.

Treatment integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care with EMDR available in individual therapy. The medical provider manages MAT (Suboxone, Vivitrol, Sublocade) and psychiatric medications when indicated.

Intake uses the full evidence-based battery: ASAM Criteria, LOCUS for mental health acuity, PHQ-9, GAD-7, the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, plus biopsychosocial, nutrition, and pain screens. The assessment drives the treatment plan from day one.

Coverage

Insurance and inpatient

Inpatient rehabilitation at an accredited partner facility is typically covered by commercial insurance at in-network rates when medical necessity is documented. The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act requires that insurance plans provide coverage for substance use treatment on terms no less favorable than coverage for medical or surgical care. We verify benefits for both the partner facility and the Archangel outpatient step-down before any placement decision.

We do not name specific partner facilities on this page

Partner relationships and bed availability change. The right inpatient facility depends on the clinical picture, the insurance, the geography, and the family situation. Naming, rating, or guaranteeing a specific facility on a public page would be misleading. The admissions team makes specific recommendations during the call.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have residential beds at the Tinton Falls clinic?
No. The Archangel Centers is a licensed outpatient provider. We coordinate inpatient placement with accredited partner facilities.
How long is an inpatient stay?
Typically 28 days, though 60 or 90 days is sometimes clinically indicated. Length depends on the clinical picture and the program.
Will my insurance cover inpatient?
Most commercial insurance plans cover medically necessary inpatient rehab at an in-network partner facility. Verification is free and confidential through (888) 464-2144.
Do I have to go to inpatient before outpatient?
No. Many clients begin in our outpatient program directly. Inpatient is for clinical pictures that require residential care; outpatient is for clinical pictures that do not.
What happens after inpatient?
The plan is built before discharge. The most common path is to step from the partner inpatient facility directly into Partial Care at our Tinton Falls clinic, with the intake already scheduled and the logistics handled.
Can I choose the inpatient facility?
Yes. The admissions team presents options matched to your clinical picture, insurance, and preferences. The final choice is yours. ---

The Team Behind Your Care

Founder-led, clinician-led, and small enough to know you

Every client at The Archangel Centers is supported by Mike and Lauren Sorrentino, Medical Director Dr. Justin Skolnick, Program Director Trevor Eyerkuss, the Managing Partners, and a Director of Admissions who actually answers the phone.

Why We Opened Archangel

A program built by people who have been there

I came back from rock bottom. I'm here because I want to show others they can too. This isn't just a business. It's my mission.- Mike Sorrentino, Founder

Mike and Lauren Sorrentino did not set out to build a generic treatment center. They wanted a recovery-grounded program that mixes lived experience, licensed clinical expertise, and family programming that actually moves the needle for the people who love someone in active addiction.

The clinic that resulted is small enough that each client knows their primary therapist by name, but resourced enough to deliver the full ASAM continuum from Partial Care through outpatient continuing care, with MAT and EMDR available when clinically indicated.
